A message from the Committee.

To all SVMCC members and any other interested person of the wider trials community.

SVMCC needs your help.

The club has unfortunately reached a point whereby unless there are people willing to step forward to join the committee and offer their help & time to run the club ‘behind the scenes’ and also ‘front of house’ helping set out and run trials events – there will sadly be no more SVMCC trials.

The club is desperately in need of fully committed people who can join and help the existing club committee to once more put on trials events.

This includes not just marking out trials but organising and running them from an operational standpoint – Entries, rider numbers, permits, insurance, Sport80 issues etc etc – all the ‘invisible things’ required to run events.

Without this the club will simply not be able to continue.

Spen Valley club has been in existence just short of 100 years and it would be a huge loss to the wider trials community were it to not be able to continue into the future, unfortunately the risk is now real that it may not survive.

In the first instance please comment below to indicate your willingness to join the committee as a fully engaged member and participant willing to give up your time once a month or so, for committee meetings, possibly attend ACU meetings and get up at a ridiculous hour in the morning in all weathers to be part of the team setting out and running our events on the day.

This could also include cajoling observers to come along to events and may mean you have to sacrifice your ride ( if you do ride ) to observe in the event we are short on numbers available to observe.

So clearly it’s not all sweetness and roses – but is very rewarding when it all comes together and the trial is a success !

A formal committee meeting will be arranged in the near future possibly Mid / End of September where those who have indicated their willingness can come along and meet the current committee and be voted onto the committee and we can then discuss how the club with your help can move forward again.

We need numbers to get involved so this is a great opportunity for groups of friends to help the club.

One final thing to note.

This role requires commitment over time, it’s not something to try for a month and then pull away from, Spen Valley has benefitted from having loyal and committed committee members over the years to keep it going, it now needs the same again to ensure it can continue into the future.

We look forward to hearing from you. https://www.facebook.com/groups/266674973404712

Thank you.
